El jueves voy a ir a la comisaría para la cita de la TIE.

Your life in Spain, turned into Spanish lessons.
Tell it about your week. An AI tutor turns it into a short lesson every weekday, corrects what you write back, and remembers it.
“Couldn’t I just do this with ChatGPT?”
Not really. With Cuéntame you never start from an empty box.
You could ask a chat app for a lesson. Then you would have to ask again tomorrow, remember what you told it, and decide what to learn next. That is the part Cuéntame does for you.
Lessons about your own week.
Tell it about your life once. Every weekday morning, a short story about it, at your level.

Your partner, your kids' school, the dog you just adopted, the job that starts Monday: the story is built from what you tell it. Each lesson also has today's grammar point, explained for an English speaker, new words and a few questions.
Write back, by email or in the app, like you would text a person. Your Spanish comes back corrected, and the next story remembers what you said. "Too easy" or "more past tense" changes the next lesson.

Practise the appointment before the day.
Tell your tutor what is coming up, and your lessons rehearse it. Or start now with twelve ready-made situations.
More about this
Got the town hall on Thursday? Say so at signup or in any reply, and your lessons rehearse it: the words you will hear, the questions they will ask, the answers to have ready.
Real life has twelve situations every newcomer meets, ready to read at A1, A2 or B1: the town hall, the foreigner's card, the health centre, the pharmacy, the bank, the landlord, your child's school, a parents' evening, electricity or internet, a gestor, a fine you want to dispute, a delivery that went wrong.
These teach the Spanish, never the paperwork.
Llegué al ayuntamiento un poco antes de la hora de la cita que pedí por internet. Había bastante gente, así que esperé mi turno en una silla. Por fin, una funcionaria me llamó a la ventanilla.
"Buenos días, dígame."
"Buenos días. Quería empadronarme en mi nueva dirección, si es posible."
"Claro, sin problema. ¿Me dice su nombre completo?"
"Alex Rivas."
"¿Me lo deletrea, por favor? Así no me equivoco."
"Sí, claro. A, ele, e, equis. Erre, i, uve, a, ese."
"Perfecto. ¿Y la dirección nueva?"
"Calle Mayor, número doce, tercero izquierda."

Something good to read between lessons.
The history of Spain in 100 parts, from Altamira to 1978, and eight classics every Spaniard knows. Each part at A1, A2 and B1. Tap a cover, then a level, then any word.
More about this
The history of Spain in five seasons and 100 parts, from Altamira to the Constitution. And eight classics: Don Quijote, Lazarillo, the Cid, Bécquer's ghosts, Don Juan Tenorio, El conde Lucanor, the folk tales and the fables.
Read a part at the level you have, and move up when you are ready: it is the same story, richer. Each part tells you why every Spaniard knows it, and where to go and see it. Stuck on a word? Tap it for its meaning, its dictionary form and every form of the verb.

Made by one person, who learns Spanish with it.
I'm Milan. I publish Expat Daily, the news email read by 1,700+ expats across Spain and Portugal. After years here my Spanish was still restaurant-level, so I built the tutor I wanted. I learn with it three mornings a week.
Everything you tell it is used for one thing: writing your lessons. You can read all of it on your settings page and delete any of it, any time.

Questions
Is this AI?
Yes. An AI writes every lesson and every answer. I built it and I run it. The difference from a chat app: you never start from an empty box. It comes to you every weekday, already knowing your level, your week, the mistakes you keep making and what you want to practise next.
It remembers everything you tell it, and you steer it: reply "too easy", "more dialogue" or "past tense this week", and the next lessons follow.
What level do I need?
Any, from your first week in Spain to advanced. Under every lesson you can tap "too easy" or "too hard", or just tell your tutor what you think in a reply, and the next lesson adjusts. Within a few lessons it sits at your level.
Can it help me with a real appointment?
Yes, two ways. Tell your tutor what is coming up, at signup or in any reply, and your lessons practise it before the day. And Real life has twelve situations ready to read now, from the town hall to the pharmacy.
Both teach the Spanish, never the paperwork: for fees, documents and deadlines, ask the office.
How do I reply?
Reply to the email like any other, or write under the lesson in your browser. In English or Spanish, typed or dictated. Text only, no photos.
Why do you want my card first?
Every lesson costs real money to write, and a card keeps the price at €15 for the people who stay. Nothing is charged until day 8, and we show you the exact date when you sign up.
How do I cancel?
One button on your settings page, and every lesson links to it. Cancel in the first 7 days and you pay nothing.
Only Spanish?
For now, yes: Spanish, explained in English, for people living in Spain. Want another language? Tell us which one. The one asked for most is the one we build next.
